Art and Craft Storage

Art and craft storage

Recently I’ve spent more time arranging my art supplies than actually using them but I have finally finished and here is a mini tour and what I use to store my stuff.

I have an Ikea Expedit desk which I adore and was a gift from my aunt:)  The workspace is huge and the shelves store so much- I put art supplies on the inside face of the shelves and books on the outside.  To store and display my art stuff I used an Ikea fira chest and painted it white and removed the drawers.  I made handles for them out of an old bag and my die cutting machine and used my trusty staple gun to attach them.  I plan on prettifying the staples at some point – possibly with buttons 🙂

I have the memory of a goldfish so if I can’t see something I don’t know it exists – being able to see all the supplies at once will help – and hopefully it will boost my creativity.

I have a slight obsession with vintage style tins. Here I use them to store pens and ink.  I use a bird cage to store fabric and to hold my embroidery hoops.

It’s a tiny space but with very high ceilings.  I painted all the walls white which could be cold but I’ve begun to fill it up with colour and displays of art and photos.  I realise that the rooms are ridiculously girly with a lot of pink and flowers and I’ve run riot with bunting and vintage fabrics but I like it:D
