Summer and The Underground Library

Inspired by Links

Ourit Ben Haim takes photographs of people  reading books on the subway.  She calls it  The Underground New York Public Library  and shows each photo on her blog.

It’s lovely to see how caught up people are in their books; they’re on the train but  each are in their own world.  I love how books can take you away from the moment and bring you anywhere and anywhen.  These photos capture that moment of escape.  She links to the books on amazon so you can buy them for yourself and she asks the readers to help identify books that she can’t recognize.

Below are photos of people reading three of my favourite books.  Go to her site and see the rest.

on the left she's reading "A Game of Thrones," by George R.R. Martin. on the right she's reading "Deadly Little Games," by Laurie Faria Stolarz

 An Ode To Summer

This is an absolutely gorgeous video by Sea Chant Productions for Kinfolk Magazine.

An Ode to Summer from Kinfolk on Vimeo.

It makes me want to just grab my camera and my bike and flee just to see where the day takes me.
