I have been testing out apps on my phone.  There is something about the possibility of instant inner peace that appeals to me. However I am aware ‘inner piece’ is not something that can be achieved without work and effort.  I WANT INNER PEACE NOW!!

Perhaps you cannot achieve and create lifelong change by downloading something onto your phone however I believe that the act of paying attention to ourselves and finding a moment of quiet CAN change our life.   You have to do the work but these apps guide you and point you in the right direction.

  1.  My Review: It’s an attractive app and the ‘Today I am grateful for‘ form which you fill in really helps with focusing on the positive in my day.

Says the app is for people who are on autopilot most of the time.  This app tries to create and encourage  mindfulness in your normal daily activities. Every gets a challenge for the day- you are supposed to apply this to your day then track share the experience and insights with others.

Self-help for worry and anxiety.

I have used this for months now and still go to it.  Put your worries away and sleep better.  There are also relaxations audios with it to help you wind down and de stress.  It also challenges your worries by giving you options to rethink the worry or find a solution.

Simple and without frills.

The bell rings throughout the day – when you hear it bong look at what you are doing- how you are feeling.  It gives you a moment to remember to centre yourself and be mindful.  I like the sound of the bell it’s deep and soothing.  Took a while to get used to it. For a while I was wondering where that gong was coming from 🙂

This app claims to provide tools to create the conditions for happiness in your life. The Secret of Happiness: Let It Find You (But Make the Effort). “Includes a ‘happiness’ assessment that provides you with your suggestions based on your results.  Has audio and journal and articles about happiness.  Quite a comprehensive app.
